On behalf of the officers and members of Greeneville Lodge No. 3 Free and Accepted Masons of Tennessee, welcome to our web site. Take a look around. I hope you will explore our Lodge history and find useful information about our Lodge.

Freemasonry is one of the world's oldest and largest fraternal organizations, with its roots tracing back to the late Middle Ages. It's based on the principles of brotherhood, morality, and mutual aid, often using symbols and rituals derived from stonemasonry practices. Freemasonry is not a religion, but it requires its members to have a belief in a higher power, referred to as the Grand Architect of the Universe. The organization is structured around lodges, which are local chapters where members meet regularly for ceremonies, discussions, and social events. Freemasonry emphasizes self-improvement, philanthropy, and community service. It also promotes moral and ethical teachings through allegorical rituals and symbolic ceremonies. Freemasonry has attracted members from various walks of life, including politicians, businessmen, artists, and scholars, fostering a diverse and interconnected network of individuals around the world.

The goal of Freemasonry is to make good men better. The goal of Greeneville Lodge No. 3 is to make Greeneville and Greene County better – a better place to live, a better place to learn, a better place to raise families. Our members care about our community. We have been a part of it for more than 200 years, and hopefully, 200 years from now, someone will be writing about the positive impact our Lodge continues to make on the lives of local citizens – members and non-members alike.

If you are a Mason, visiting brethren are always welcome. If you have questions about Freemasonry, hopefully this web site or one of our members can provide answers. If you are interested in becoming a Mason, ask one!
